Geological Survey

Geological surveying at Amesa Limited forms the backbone of our exploration, mine development, and long‑term resource planning across East Africa. It is a structured, science‑driven process that enables us to identify new gold targets, evaluate mineral potential, and optimize extraction at our flagship assets — Luika Gold Mine and Singida Gold Mine in Tanzania.

Our geological survey program integrates advanced technologies, field expertise, and responsible exploration principles to ensure that every decision is grounded in accurate subsurface knowledge.

Our geological survey program integrates advanced technologies, field expertise, and responsible exploration principles to ensure that every decision is grounded in accurate subsurface knowledge.

1. Regional Geological Assessment

Amesa begins with a broad evaluation of East Africa’s geological frameworks, focusing on:

•    Greenstone belts known for gold mineralization

•    Shear zones and fault systems that host high grade deposits

•    Volcanic and sedimentary terrains with potential for new discoveries

This regional understanding guides strategic expansion into Tanzania, DRC, and West Africa.

2. Detailed Geological Mapping

Our geologists conduct systematic mapping to document:

•    Rock types and lithology

•    Structural features (folds, faults, shear zones)

•    Alteration zones associated with gold mineralization

Mapping provides the first layer of evidence for identifying prospective zones.

3. Geophysical Surveys

Amesa employs modern geophysical techniques to “see beneath the surface” without drilling:

•    Magnetic surveys to detect mineralized structures

•    Gravity surveys to identify dense rock bodies

•    Induced Polarisation (IP) to locate sulphide rich zones linked to gold

•    Airborne radiometrics to map surface chemistry and alteration

These methods significantly reduce exploration risk and cost.

4. Geochemical Sampling

We collect and analyze:

•    Soil samples

•    Rock chips

•    Stream sediments

•    Hydrogeological samples

Geochemical anomalies help pinpoint hidden mineralized zones and guide drilling programs.

5. Exploratory Drilling & Core Analysis

Drilling is the most definitive stage of the survey. It provides:

•    Core samples for grade analysis

•    Structural and mineralogical data

•    Depth continuity of ore bodies

Results feed into internationally recognized reporting standards (JORC/NI 43 101).

6. Geological Modelling & Resource Estimation

Using advanced software, Amesa builds 3D geological models to:

•    Estimate gold resources and reserves

•    Define ore body geometry

•    Support mine design and production planning

This modelling ensures efficient extraction and long term operational stability.

7. Environmental & Hydrogeological Studies

Geological surveys at Amesa also include:

•    Groundwater mapping

•    Slope stability assessments

•    Environmental sensitivity analysis

These studies ensure safe, responsible, and compliant mining operations.

Strategic Importance to Amesa Limited

Geological surveys are central to Amesa’s mission of responsible, sustainable, and growth oriented mining. They enable us to:

•    Expand confidently across East Africa

•    Strengthen production at Luika and Singida

•    Reduce exploration risk

•    Enhance investor trust through data driven reporting

•    Protect communities and ecosystems

•    Position Amesa as a leading African gold producer and explorer
